We're a small, family-owned apiary nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Appalachian Bee Company was founded by Ben, Taylor, and our son, Atlas, with a simple goal: to produce honest, local honey while caring for the bees and the land we call home.

Although our story begins in East Tennessee, it also stretches north through the Appalachian Mountains. Ben grew up in New Hampshire, surrounded by the forests and mountains of Northern Appalachia, while Taylor was born and raised in Blount County, Tennessee. Together, we found that no matter where the Appalachian Mountains take you, they share the same spirit—a deep appreciation for nature, hard work, and community.

Those values are at the heart of everything we do.

We believe beekeeping is about more than harvesting honey. It's about supporting healthy pollinators, caring for our local environment, and preserving a tradition that connects people to the land. Every hive is tended by hand, and every jar of honey reflects the unique wildflowers, trees, and seasons of the Smoky Mountain region.
